Robin Tunnicliff Obituary

God received another angel in Robin Lynn Brown Tunnicliff. Robin was born April 3, 1952, to John and Donna Brown in Billings, Montana. Arriving as the first born meant early on she was at the head of the class. Teaching her two younger brothers Bryan and Stephen, was preparing her for her tenure in third grade classrooms all over Billings including, Central Heights, Beartooth, Highland, McKinley, and Meadowlark Elementary Schools culminating with over 30 years of service.

As seniors at BSHS, Darell and Robin Brown were in the same civics class, where an unbreakable bond began. They were married on August 18, 1973 and were each other's best friend and biggest advocate until Darell's untimely death on February10, 2022. Unbelievably God called Robin home on September 5, 2022. When one spouse dies unexpectedly the other struggles to survive a broken heart. In Robin's situation, she indeed suffered from a broken heart. The thought of losing Darell was beyond her comprehension. We take comfort in knowing they are together again on the golf course or wherever in each other's care.

Robin was a graduate of Billings Senior High and the University of Montana. Her life's work was truly dedicated to the education of countless children in Billings Public Schools. Her passion for teaching third grade was indicative of how she approached all things with intelligence, care, and compassion. Most recently, Robin dedicated her time and many talents to aspiring educators from Montana State University-Billings. Her encouragement and advocacy for education in general were demonstrated in every step of her process nurturing future classroom educators to be the very best.

Darrell and Robin were members of Yellowstone Country Club for many years. She thoroughly enjoyed the game of golf. Robin felt a "nine and dine" approach was always the best option. Even after recent shoulder surgery, Robin could be seen walking along with golf buddies with a wedge and putter to keep in shape. Second to golf, her passion was providing a home-made goodie for family events, holidays, road-trips, or just because. Her chocolate chip cookies, caramel brownies, carrot cake, and almond roca recipes are worth millions. She was a tremendous cheerleader and supporter of Darell's dedication to worthy causes. Robin was front and center at all fundraising, sporting, and cultural events wanting to support all the great opportunities Billings had to offer. The Billings community has truly lost two outstanding individuals who gave so much to the city.

Many people's hearts are aching due to Robin's unexpected passing. She was predeceased by her parents, and her brother, Bryan Brown. Robin leaves behind her brother, Stephen Brown, her uncle Lyle Hedin (Dagney), her sister-in-law Connie Dunn and her daughters, Lynell Gappa (sons Tyler and Klae) and Kaylean Dunn; Bryan's children (Alyssa and Joshua), Bryan's former wife, Julie Kautz Brown; and countless friends.

Robin's funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at King of Glory Lutheran Church, 4125 Grand Ave. Livestream will be available at https://www.kingofglorybillings.com/. Following the service, a celebration of life will be held at Yellowstone Country Club, 3200 Paul Allen Way. Cremation has taken place.
