Linda Baugh Obituary

Linda Roseberry Baugh, age 79, died April 2, 2023, in Billings, Montana. Linda was born January 20, 1944, in Oakland, California. She moved to Billings with her parents and, from the fourth grade on, Linda was a Montana girl. Linda graduated from the inaugural class of Billings West High School in 1962. She graduated in 1966 from Rice University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biology.

Linda met Todd while they were both at Rice, and he was two years ahead of her in school. They married shortly after Linda graduated from Rice. They briefly lived in Austin while Todd completed his last year of law school and Linda earned her teaching certificate. They moved to Billings as young newlyweds. Linda started teaching as a middle school science teacher and substitute in Billings, Lockwood and Huntley Project schools. Following teaching, she worked for the bulk of her career as Special Events Coordinator for St. Vincent’s Hospital. She put on fundraising events such as the SAINTS Benefit, Montana State Chili Cook Off, Fortin Memorial Golf Tournament, and Heart & Sole Run. Linda also spent time on the board of the Billings Symphony. After she retired, she continued to organize golf tournament fundraisers, regularly volunteered at Poly Drive Elementary helping third graders with math, and remained an active member of the PEO.

Linda’s grandchildren were her biggest priority, cheering at their games, making cookies and enjoying endless card games with them. She loved bringing together her family and friends more than anything. She hosted numerous holidays and get togethers. She was a great cook and loved making food for every get together. Her golf group, rap (book club) group, bridge group, and friends from all over held a special place in her heart.

Linda was also an outdoor enthusiast with a love of wildflowers, hiking, camping, biking, golfing and spending time at the family cabin in Red Lodge. On hikes with Linda, she was notorious for both bribing additional distances with gummy worms and Swedish fish, as well as pulling out a book trailside to identify new flora and fauna. Some of her other favorite things: playing Kris Kristofferson and Neil Diamond records, sledding with the kids, dancing with Todd, Symphony in the Park, books, anything with owls, making applesauce from her apple trees, ski trips, and singing around the campfire. Linda brought boundless energy and did her utmost to make sure memories were being made, and we were all together to make them.

Linda is survived by her husband, G. Todd Baugh; her son, Travis Baugh (wife Kristine); her daughter, Adrienne Baugh Donahue (husband Greg); her sister, Carol Rohr (husband Roger); and five grandchildren, Aiden (21), Quinn (19), Arianna (16), Drew (16) and Connor Todd (14); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, at King of Glory Lutheran Church, 4125 Grand Ave., with a reception to follow at the Yellowstone Country Club.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Billings Symphony.
