Jeffrey Stone Obituary

Jeffrey Lloyd Stone, known to all as Jeff, was a dedicated family man. He went home to be with his Lord and Savior on May 28, 2023, at the age of 65.

As an accomplished professional in construction management and design, Jeff was widely respected by those who knew him both personally and professionally. He was an incredibly talented designer and was able to bring his designs to life in many projects including several custom-built homes, multiple renovation projects at the Atlantis Casino and Spa, the Monarch Resort Casino in Denver and the Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. Jeff was a diligent and hardworking man who worked full-time throughout his life despite any personal hardships or setbacks. For decades, Jeff has been an integral part of the work family at the Atlantis Casino. He was highly esteemed by colleagues and friends who described him as a true master of his craft, a mentor and a teacher with a quick wit and an amazing memory. His positive attitude and spirit left a lasting mark on those who had the pleasure of knowing him. More than anything, Jeff loved being a grandpa to his eight grandkids. He was loyal, wise, resilient, consistent, and tirelessly supportive of his family and friends.

Jeff was born on July 10, 1957, in Grand Forks, North Dakota, to Richard H. and Dianne K. (Smith) Stone. He was the eldest of five children. He grew up in the Midwest and eventually lived in Bismarck, North Dakota, where he attended junior high and high school, and where he would later meet his wife, Renee. Jeff graduated from college at Jamestown University (1979) with a degree in Biology.

Jeff and Renee (Schramm) Stone were married in 1978. They shared a very close bond throughout their marriage. They recently celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary on May 27, 2023. In 1979, they had their first daughter, Marnie, followed by their second daughter, Katie, in 1981. His family will forever cherish the time and now the memories they had with Jeff, and feel so blessed to have had such a selfless, kind, devoted and honorable husband and father. To those to whom he was a father, a husband, a grandfather, a son and a brother, he demonstrated that family and serving God are the most important things in life.

Jeff is greatly loved by everyone in his family, and he will forever hold a special place in their hearts. He is survived by his wife, Renee; his two children, Marnie (Emiliano) Flores and Katie (Paul) Goldammer; his father, Richard H. Stone; his sisters, Susan (Mike) Messer and  Liz (Mike) Sailer; his brothers, Mitch (Paige) Stone and Matt (Jane) Stone; grandchildren Ezekial (15), Ava (13), Yeshuah (13), Mia (10), Ashe (10), Isaac (6), Valentina (4) and Lenna (9 months); and his eight nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dianne, and brother-in-law, Tim Schramm.

A memorial gathering will be held at a later date.
