Wesley “Wes” Earl Schwarzrock, age 63, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, son, uncle and friend, passed away in his home during the late evening hours of August 15, 2025, after a very brave six year battle with stage 5 kidney renal failure and significant heart disease. He put up a tremendous fight with determination and strength.
Wes was born on September 14, 1961, to Lyle and Betty Schwarzrock, in Wolf Point, Montana. He graduated from Poplar High School in 1979. He worked at his family’s farm until he moved and planted his roots in Billings, Montana after graduating from high school.
He was one of the hardest workers you could ever meet. He made a career of welding/manufacturing. He was also an amazing woodworker. He made many beautiful household items and children’s furniture pieces.
His favorite pastime was riding his dirt bike. Whenever he would ride, even when he took a fall and dislocated his shoulder, he would say it was still his best day ever. When he was no longer able to ride due to his health, he was still a very active member (Sergeant-at-Arms) and received a Lifetime Member Award at the BMC. He always helped there in whatever ways he could. He was previously a member of the local bowling league for many years and achieved the perfect game, along with sharing the love of bowling with his family. He also loved the outdoors and was a true Montanan through and through.
Wes met the love of his life, Ellen (Simon) Schwarzrock, in 1990. He also gained three more daughters at that time (Tanya, Marisa and Rebecca). Wes was a devoted family man. He was an amazing husband and extraordinary dad. He was always there whatever the need: to make us laugh with his wit and contagious laugh, to be a listening ear, to give sound advice and to teach life lessons. He also shared a special bond with his fur babies who were at his side until the very end.
Wes was a man of exceptional kindness, loyalty, strength, humor and wit. He would be the first one to drop whatever he was doing instantly to help anyone in need (family, friend or stranger). He was our rock.
Wes is survived by his wife Ellen; his father Lyle; his daughters Tanya (Dae), Rebecca, Marisa and Danielle; his brothers Russell (Cheri), Chris and Guy; his sister Coleen (Joe); his cherished grandchildren Ayden, Abel, Amelia, Ava, Reace (Brenda), Izzabella, Shalom, Oriion, Khy, Shaylagh, Jasmine, Erikah and Trevon; he is also survived by many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Wes is preceded in death by his mother Betty; his grandparents William and Pearl & Eddie and Alice; his nephews Raymond and Hunter.
Although his time here ended way too soon, his legacy will live on forever in the hearts of all of his family, friends and everyone he touched and met along the way.
A private family service will be held.
