Violet Splitstone, age 75 of Powell, Wyoming, passed away on April 20, 2026 surrounded by the love of her family.
She was the youngest of three children born to Jack and Velma Ellis in Council Grove, Kansas. After attending Bible college in St. Louis, she made her way to Rawlins, Wyoming, to establish a church. Soon after, she met Nathan Splitstone. During their 53-year marriage, they raised two boys.
Violet will be deeply missed by those who survive her: her husband, Nathan; sons, Bill (Larissa) of Laramie and Michael of Powell; grandchildren, Adonis, Heather, Josh (Amy), Bill Jr. (Sherene), Austin, Matthias; great-grandchildren, Emma, Mason, Alice, Marcelene, and Scarlett. She was preceded in death by her parents and her two siblings, Jack and Sharon.
Violet loved the Lord and her devotion showed in everything she did. She was a caring mother and generous grandma, often treating the kids to Dairy Queen. She was devoted to serving her church in many and various ways.
A memorial service in Violet’s honor will be at 3:00pm on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at the Pentecostal Church, 5 Nez Perce Drive, Cody.
