Theresia H. Anton

Theresia H. (Roller) Anton of Huntley, Montana passed away on Thursday April 16, 2026 with loved ones at her side, at the age of 94. Theresia was born on November 4, 1931 in Shefield, North Dakota. She was the ninth of ten children born to Adam and Rose (Huschka) Roller. Theresia was the last remaining sibling of the ten.

Theresia grew up on the family farm and went to school (the school run by the Catholic Nuns), where she gained many skills that would serve her throughout her life: gardening, caring for livestock, and her wonderful German cooking.

Theresia was married to Steve J. Anton of Gladstone, ND on November 8, 1950. They lived in several locations in North Dakota and Minnesota, always having a farm with livestock and lots of chores; she was always right beside Steve with the farms and the chores. They started a family in 1951 and through the next 13 years, had a total of four sons. In 1965, they moved to Montana and settled in West Billings where they had a small plot and room for a horse and a cow. Again, she jumped right in with chores at the same time she was raising the boys and keeping an immaculate home. She was very particular that everything had to be cleaned and shined, “just so”. In 1973, they moved “to town” and lived in Billings until 1978 when they purchased acreage and moved to Huntley. She resided there since that last move.

Once Theresia and Steve moved to Huntley, they had many grandchildren living nearby that they were always so happy to see. The grandkids would visit especially when they were school aged, spending time before and after school with treats and fun activities. Even to this day, and as adults, the grandkids will never forget Grandma’s recipe for Deviled Eggs, that includes bar-b-que sauce. Her husband Steve passed away in 1997, and she maintained the home in Huntley for 29 years.

Theresia enjoyed gardening, camping and fishing, especially from their boat. She could play the accordion (a little) and loved to dance the Polka. Family was her highlight, with big meals for every occasion: birthdays, holidays, weddings, and any excuse she had. She was very proud of her home and her cooking skills.

Theresia was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 46 years Steve, her parents, two infant daughters Bonita and Margie, and her 9 siblings.

Survivors include her sons Steve (wife Jeri), Galen (wife Jeanette) and Roger, all of Huntley and Cornelius “Lee” (wife Lynda) of Billings; 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and one great great granddaughter (who is two weeks old).

Rest easy, Mom, and dance many polkas with Dad and your brothers (and maybe sisters too!)

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12 p.m. Wednesday April 22, 2026 at St. Patrick’s Co-Cathedral, Billings MT. Rite of Committal will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital, 911 W. Fifth St., Spokane, WA 99204.
