Suzanne L Smoot

Suzanne L. Smoot, 87, a long-time resident of Billings, passed away on Friday, March 13, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.

Suzanne was born on April 22, 1938. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education and carried throughout her life a deep appreciation for learning, the arts, and the outdoors.

In Billings, Suzanne was an enthusiastic supporter of the Yellowstone Art Museum, the Billings Parmly Public Library, and was a patron of the renovation of the Alberta Bair Theater. She enjoyed an active lifestyle and could often be found playing tennis, skiing, hiking the Montana landscape, or horseback riding—activities that reflected her love of nature and adventure.

She is survived by her husband, Dr. William Smoot; her three sons, John (Vicky), Sam (Karen), and Ted (Laura); her sister, Sally (Tom); and seven grandchildren.

A memorial service celebrating Suzanne’s life is planned for the summertime.
