Sophia P. Smith

Sophia P. Smith, 103, of Billings, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2017.

Sophia was the youngest child of the late Alexander and Dora Poblieski. She was born in Anaconda in 1914. Shortly thereafter, the family moved to Great Falls. Sophia lived there until she moved to Billings in 1942, where she worked as a hairdresser until she married Gerald Smith in 1948. Sophia enjoyed bowling and rock hunting with Gerry, who passed away in 1981.

Preceding her in death are Sophia's three brothers and one sister. Sophie is survived by special niece Jacqueline Putnam, Atlanta, Georgia; granddaughter Jerri Shuey, Missoula; and great-granddaughter Melissa Matkin, Victor, Idaho.

A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 25, at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary, 1001 Alderson Ave.

Sophie wanted to thank Diane and Gordon Vandeviere and their sons for their great friendship and kindness over the years.

One last thing, Sophie was the Yahtzee Queen!
