In Loving Memory of Soledad Guerrero

March 4, 1935 – September 22, 2026

Soledad Guerrero, 91, of Billings, Montana, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2026, surrounded by the love of a family she cherished throughout her life.

Soledad was born on March 4, 1935, in Powell, Wyoming, to Joseph Reyes Ponce and Julia Rivas Ponce. She was raised in Billings, Montana, where she met the love of her life, Robert Guerrero. Together, they built a life and a family and shared 47 years of marriage before Robert passed away in 2001.

Soledad was a faithful Jehovah’s Witness whose faith brought her comfort, community, and many cherished friendships throughout her life.

But more than anything, Soledad loved her family.

Her home was always a place where her children and grandchildren knew they were welcome. After Robert passed away, she opened her home to any of her children or grandchildren who needed somewhere to stay, whether it was for a short time or as long as they needed.

She would often say, “I like the house filled with kids.”

And she truly meant it.

Some of the best memories of Soledad are the simple ones—being together, laughing, talking, playing games, and simply having family around. She especially enjoyed playing jacks, and she was very good at it.

Soledad believed strongly in forgiveness and in keeping family close. Like every family, there were good times and difficult times, but her door and her heart remained open. She loved being a mother and grandmother, and there was always room in her heart for her children and grandchildren.

Soledad is survived by her children, Robert, Esequiel, Yolanda, Elias, Carmen, Anita, Edward, and James, along with her many grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 47 years, Robert Guerrero, and our brother, Joe.

To her family, she wasn’t simply Soledad. She was Mom and Grandma.

Her family will remember her for her faith, her forgiving heart, her open home, and most of all, the love she had for her children and grandchildren.

The house may be a little quieter without her, but the memories she created in a home she always wanted “filled with kids” will remain with her family for generations.

Mamá, tus hijos te quieren mucho y te extrañan. Tus nietos siempre te recordarán con mucho amor. Siempre estarás en nuestros corazones.

A celebration of Soledad’s life will be determined at a later date.
