Sharon Doone Turbiville was called home for Eternal rest on July 11, 2025. Born to Eugene Howard Turbiville and Lorna Doone (Drake) Turbiville, November 26, 1942, in Baker, Montana. Sharon and her 2 older brothers, Loren and Howard, grew up on a huge sheep ranch in Mill Iron, Montana. Sharon often fondly recalled “stomping the wool in the bags,” and following her father everywhere he went...she was the apple of his eye.
The family sold the ranch in circa 1955 and moved into a nice house overlooking Ekalaka, Montana. She graduated from Carter County High School 1960. She welcomed her first daughter in 1962. Sharon obtained her barber license in 1964 and later, opened up the first lady barber shop in Billings (circa 1967), named “Magic Clipper,” located right beside the old Horseshoe on 4th Street. Sharon met Richard Phillip Huber and they were married in 1964. Together they had 1 son and 2 daughters. The family eventually settled in Shepherd, Mt., in 1971, where Sharon became a successful building contractor, building over 20 houses. The marriage failed in 1979 and Sharon went on to purchase the Stateline Club in Bainville, Montana. There she met and married Scott Bertram (deceased) and were later divorced. She owned the successful business until selling it in 1999, and moved back to Billings where she purchased the Palm Beach Club in Laurel, Mt., changing the name to “The River's Edge.” Other casinos she bought throughout the years included “Fort Rockvale,” Joliet, Mt. and “The Big Inning,” Las Vegas, Nevada. She retired in 2015 after selling her last business, a motel in Culbertson, Montana, and again, moving back to the Billings area where she resided with her only son for the remainder of her years.
Sharon's passion in her “quiet” years, were her beloved dogs, her flowers, and the sunshine. She led a very enthusiastic life until diagnosed with lung cancer in 2017. Throughout 2 cancer remissions, a broken back (2019), Sharon remained lovingly active in her grand kid's sports, loved to mow her lawn and taking care all of her dogs.
Sharon Doone joins her entire, immediate eternal family in Paradise leaving behind her children: Terrie Rae Turbiville, Grand Island, NE; Phillip Eugene Huber, Huntley, Mt.; Dana Kae Huber, Joliet, Mt.; and Melany Ann King, Billings, Mt., who gave Sharon her only grandchildren. Six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, and 3 nieces.
A celebration of life will be commenced sometime in the future as we will lay her ashes in Ekalaka.
