Rick
Lambrecht
Jul 31, 1953 — Sep 6, 2026
Billings
Rickard (Rick) Kenneth Lambrecht, passed from this life on September 6th 2026, at his home in Billings, Montana, surrounded by his loving family.
Rick was born in Billings in 1953 to Kenneth and Lois Lambrecht before moving to Tulsa, Oklahoma shortly thereafter, where he spent his childhood. Rick developed a love for music during this time, learning to play all sorts of instruments from the saxophone to the oboe. By the time he graduated from East Central High School in Tulsa in 1971, Rick decided to pursue music as a profession, going to Tahlequah, Oklahoma, to pursue his bachelor's degree in music education at Northeastern State University, graduating in 1975.
After finishing his degree, Rick began teaching band in Yale, Oklahoma, from 1976 to 1978. After that, he joined the oil industry, which eventually brought him back to Montana in 1984, and then back to Billings in 1986, where he stayed for the rest of his life.
While in Billings, Rick met the love of his life, Chris, in 1992. They got engaged and married in 1994.
Family was at the center of Rick’s life. He brought his children into the things he loved, from serving others to hiking and exploring, turning adventures into memories and experiences into lessons that would stay with them long after the adventure was over. He deeply loved being a husband and a father, and there was no role he treasured more.
Anyone who knew Rick would know that he loved listening to music, spending time in the mountains of Montana, and most of all, volunteering his time with different ministries, usually with a focus on helping kids learn about Jesus. Whether that was doing maintenance work at Clydehurst Christian Ranch in the mountains by his beloved Boulder River, or serving meals to kids every Wednesday at Harvest Students, Rick had a heart for kids and serving them.
He is survived by his siblings (Vicky Hibbard and her husband Ralph and Bud Lambrecht and his wife Alex), six children (Rachel Rusco, Shelly Woodall, Holly Hannon and her husband Billy, Dani Myers and her husband D.A., Jared Lambrecht, and John Lambrecht), eleven grandchildren (Cody, Aurora, Emily, Kaitlyn, Olivia, Paige, Connor, Ethan, Colin, Lila and Bear) and two great-grandchildren (Kalliope and Roman). Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Lois Lambrecht, and his sister, Cheryl Murphy.
We love you so much Dad, and will miss you every day. We will look for you in the mountain air and babbling brooks as we try to learn to live without you.
