Richard Arthur Jalbert, 95, passed away on May 16, 2025, in Billings, Montana. Born on November 10, 1929, Richard lived a life marked by dedication to his family and service to his country.
Richard married Margaret "Peggy" Jalbert on March 6, 1954, and together they raised a loving family of two sons and five daughters. After the loss of his beloved wife in 2010, Richard returned to Billings to be closer to his extensive family. He became a father figure to many, including numerous nieces and nephews.
His military service was distinguished; as a sergeant in the 82nd Airborne, he was an esteemed paratrooper instructor, shaping the skills and lives of many young servicemen. Following his military career, Richard worked for Capp Homes. Starting his career in construction, he was promoted to Production Manager in 1973 and relocated to Colorado Springs, where he continued to influence the industry until his retirement.
Richard had a passion for greeting cards, always selecting the perfect one for each occasion, and he devoted many years to tracing and documenting his family's genealogy, a testament to his deep love for his family heritage.
He is survived by his daughters, Sandra Meehan, Brenda Mora and her husband Sam, Mary Jalbert, Susan Underwood and her husband Gary, Diann Thompson; 15 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-grandchild. Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret, sons Stephen and Roland Jalbert, and grandson Terrance Lee Underwood.
A celebration of life will be held in Billings in the summer of 2025, with the exact date to be determined. Richard will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Billings, Montana.
