It is with profound sadness that we announce that Mark Boulet passed away peacefully on May 30th, 2026, at the age of 69. A beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, Mark leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories and a legacy of adventure, kindness, and love.

Born on April 28, 1957, and raised in Billings, Montana, Mark lived a life guided by curiosity, courage, and a desire to explore the world around him. His adventurous spirit led him to many places throughout his life, including Fort Lauderdale, Lake Tahoe, and Newport Beach. No matter where life took him, he wanted to share this happiness with his family and friends.

A true adventurer at heart, Mark found joy both in the sky and on the water. During his years in Newport Beach, he continued his passion for boating and had the unique honor of captaining John Wayne's famed yacht, the Wild Goose.

Mark became a familiar and beloved figure in the ballooning communities. For many years, he participated in balloon races such as the Great Reno Balloon Race and as a tethered balloonist at the Big Sky Balloon Rally, giving countless children and adults the opportunity to experience the magic of hot air ballooning. His sharing of those moments brought joy to everyone around him.

Throughout his life, whether on the water, in the mountains, or high above the ground in a balloon basket, Mark sought adventure and connection. He had an easygoing nature that attracted new friends wherever he went. Above all, he was a loving son, a caring brother, proud uncle, and a genuine friend whose kindness, humor, and encouragement touched the lives of those he loved.

Mark is survived by his loving family, including his siblings, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many dear friends. His absence leaves an immeasurable void, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

We will think of him whenever a hot air balloon rises into the sky or a boat sets out across the water—reminders of a life lived fully and freely.
