Marion C. Neill

Marion C. Neill, lovingly known as “Meon” to her children, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2025, at the age of 93, in her home at The Springs at Grand Park.

Marion was born in Merrill, Wisconsin, and grew up along the shores of the Great Lakes, where she developed a lifelong love of nature, adventure, and music. She graduated with a degree in Music and Education from The College of St. Scholastica, in Duluth, MN. and carried her passion for music, learning and teaching throughout her life.

She was the proud mother of four children — Michael Ruby (deceased), Alison Ruby Besel (Todd), Ron Ruby (Michelle) of Colorado, and Dawn Ruby of Billings, Montana. She was also blessed with 10 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy and pride.

Marion was known for her adventurous spirit, her quick wit, and her beautiful singing voice — truly the voice of an angel. For many years, she shared that gift as a member of the Saint Thomas Church choir, where her strong faith shone through every note she sang. Even when her back and knees kept her from standing with the choir, she faithfully sat nearby so that her voice could still be heard.

Marion’s life was filled with laughter, faith, and love. She never shied away from trying something new, and those who knew her will remember that there was never a dull moment when she was around. Her warmth, courage, and unshakable belief in God touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She would want to be remembered most “with a song on her heart and a smile on her lips”.

Her family takes comfort in knowing that her song continues — in their hearts, their memories, and every moment of joy she inspired in each of us.

Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Friday, October 24 at Saint Thomas Catholic Church located at 2055 Woody Drive, Billings, Montana.

Memorials can be made in her name to the charity of your choice.
