Marion was born August 22,1934, in St. Paul, Minnesota to John and Anna Tschida. When Marion was a youngster, the family moved to Montana, to a small farm located directly south of where the Pompeys Pillar rock was located. Then, it was simply known as "the rock". Now it is a landmark, purchased by the government and is visited by many.
Marion graduated from Edgar High School. After attending Billings Business College she worked as a legal secretary before and after her marriage to Robert Grammens in 1955. Their true calling was farming and ranching, which they were engaged in for many years.
Marion loved books and summarized hundreds of her reading experiences using her specialized notecard system. She was an excellent cook and baker, and her grandchildren have fond memories of her delicious cinnamon rolls and Christmas cookies. Marion was also a talented seamstress and sewed many Halloween costumes and dresses for her granddaughters.
Marion was preceded in death by her husband Robert, daughters Barbara Rexford and Diane Litszinger and grandson Rob Rexford. Also preceding her were her parents John and Anna and her brother John Tschida.
Marion leaves behind daughter Kathy (Larry) Watson, son-in-law Tracy Rexford, granddaughters Tammi Watson, Kristi(Gary) Gorski, Brandi MacDonald and Nicole Litszinger. In addition are her great grandchildren Blake (Sarah) MacDonald, Brock, Brooklyn and Boston MacDonald, Ashlyn Miller, Madison Rexford and great great granddaughter, Mylah MacDonald.
A special thank you to Yellowstone River Nursing and Rehab, Compasses Hospice and Kathy Roundface for your kindness and care.
