Our mother, Margaret Faye (Kern) Larson passed away on September 15, 2025 peacefully at home.
Margaret was born in Mott, North Dakota on January 22, 1935, to Russell and Albertina (Beehler) Kern. The family moved to Miles City, MT, as a child. After a few years, the family settled in Billings, MT. She was the fifth oldest of 11 children.
Margaret attended Billings Senior High School before marrying Lucky Larson. After moving briefly to New Jersey, where Lucky was stationed in the Air Force, they returned to Billings where their two children, Randy and Robyn, were born. They later divorced.
Margaret worked as a title clerk for many Billings car dealerships before retiring several years ago.
Margaret was very involved in her children’s lives. She was Randy’s biggest cheerleader during his 30 years as a dirt track car racer. Her and Robyn enjoyed travelling to Florida and Hawaii as well as many other destinations. She enjoyed her faithful pet companions, Lily, Gunner and Bogie.
Margaret is proceeded in death by her parents, her siblings, Gladys Reed, Alice Lambrecht, Donald Kern, Carolyn Lambrecht, Eleanor Kern, Roderick Kern, Albert Kern, Diane Billman and Douglas Kern.
Mom is survived by her sister Elsie Austin of Las Vegas, NV. She is also survived by her two children, Randy Larson of Fromberg, MT and Robyn Larson of Billings, MT. She is also survived by her grandson, Chad (Linda) Cline of Great Falls, MT and two great grandchildren, Aaron and Ashley.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Monday, September 22, 2025 at 11 am at Yellowstone Valley Memorial Park, 3605 Grand Avenue, Billings, MT . Michelotti-Sawyers is in charge of arrangements. Cremation has taken place.
