Born in Waco, TX on February 16, 1939, to Harvey E. and Helen G. Krause.
Larry attended grade and high school in Sinton, TX where he graduated in 1957. He then attended the University of Texas where he graduated in 1962 with a BS degree in Petroleum Engineering.
Upon graduation, Larry's journey to the mountains began when he went to work for Texaco in Odessa, TX and later in Casper and La Barge, WY. in 1967, he hired on with Conoco in Casper where he remained until 1973. At that time, he went to work with Cardinal Petroleum Co. in Billings, MT. In 1974, Cardinal was purchased by Phillips Petroleum Co. Larry was offered a position with Phillips in Denver, CO, but decided he liked Billings a lot better. Larry went to work for Robert L. Nance and Associates at that time and remained there until 1980. At that time, he became self-employed as a petroleum engineering consultant. He remained a consultant until he retired in 2006. Larry had a lot of wonderful memories of the great people that he worked with. More than once, he stated how much he owes to all these friends for his success.
Larry married Shirley A. Perkins in 1960. That marriage produced two wonderful children, Robin and Michael. They were later divorced in 1972. In 1981, he met and married his true love and friend, Judy A. Novasio, who was always there for him with her love, understanding and encouragement.
Larry is survived by his wife, Judy; his daughter, Robin (Larry) Hudson; grandchildren, Glen Porter and Kelly Porter; great-granddaughter Holly Porter; son, Michael (Kathy); grandchildren, Alexius and Morgan Krause; stepchildren, Cindy Jackson, Greg Novasio and Jennifer Novasio. Larry was very proud of his children, grandchildren and stepchildren. Larry is also survived by his brother Allen (Peggy). Larry was preceded in death by his father in 1970, his mother in 2010, and stepfather in 2012.
