Lane Keith Maddock

October 13, 1965 — December 24, 2025

Lane Keith Maddock passed away on December 24, 2025, just in time to spend Christmas with Jesus and beloved family members in the Kingdom of Heaven. Within hours, his immediate family arrived from Hawaii, Arizona, Wisconsin, Missoula, Butte, and Bozeman-just as Lane himself would have done. He was born on October 13, 1965, to Don and Susan Maddock in Butte, Montana.

Lane had a lifelong passion for sports. He participated and excelled in wrestling and baseball, playing for the Billings Royals, and graduating from Billings Senior High School in 1983. He later earned his degree from the University of Montana in 1988. He was a devoted fan of the Montana Grizzlies and the Seattle Mariners, where he served as a member of the athletic training staff for several years. He also followed the Charlotte Hornets; however, he loved no team more than the Minnesota Vikings.

Every Minnesota Vikings game was a shared experience between Lane and his sons, Brock and Chaz. Whether through group texts, phone calls, or watching games together in person, they stayed closely connected through every game, sharing play-by-play reactions, jokes, frustrations, and celebrations. Game days became some of their most cherished memories, reflecting the deep love and joy Lane found in spending time with his boys.

Lane’s proudest accomplishments were his two sons: Brock, born in 1995, and Chaz, born in 1998. Lane never missed a game or opportunity to brag about them, who-if you asked Lane- were two of the most intelligent and talented men you will ever meet. They gave him purpose and motivation to succeed in his business, Prime Medical Supply, where he compassionately served his patients for nearly 30 years.

Lane was also immensely proud of his younger brother, Chad, and often told stories of their childhood- hunting, fishing, and occasionally getting into trouble. Through his close relationship with his brother, Lane was blessed to be an uncle to two incredible nieces, Mikaela (born in 1995) and Halle (born in 1997), who brought him countless stories, photos, and cherished memories.

Lane loved his family deeply and always looked forward to special gatherings, especially Thanksgiving dinner at his mother’s home. He was often the life of the gathering, telling stories-some not so appropriate (if you knew Lane, you know what we mean)-but always full of fun and laughter.

When his grandmother moved to Billings, Lane stopped by every morning before work to have coffee with her. After she passed away, he lovingly continued the tradition by visiting his mother every morning with his best friend and constant companion-his chocolate lab, Rocky- creating an incredibly special and meaningful time for them both.

Lane was preceded in death by some of his favorite people: his grandparents, Keith and Jeanette Barkell; his aunt and uncle, Judie and Jack Casagranda; and his great-grandmother, Lena Ricketts, who was always proud to be part of the five generations she created.

Left behind with a lifetime of memories are his sons, Brock and Chaz (Ashley); his mother, Susan; his father Don (Margaret); his brother, Chad; his nieces, Mikaela and Halle (Luke); his very special cousins, Chris, Curt, and Cory (Heather) Casagranda; his loyal chocolate lab, Rocky; and many friends and patients he treasured.

No services are planned at Lane’s request, but his family will gather at a later date to share their love and memories.
