Kelly J. Hudson

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, Kelly Jean Hudson.

Kelly was born on December 9, 1958, in Billings, Montana, at St. Vincent’s Hospital. In a bittersweet twist of fate, she was also called home there.

When Kelly was five years old, her parents, Russ and Joyce Hudson, moved the family to Cody, Wyoming, along with her brother, Doug, and sister, Kim. Cody became home, and many of Kelly’s favorite memories were made there.

Kelly graduated from Cody High School in 1977.

In 1987, Kelly proudly joined the United States Army. She was stationed in Germany with the 24th Signal Battalion during the fall of the Berlin Wall and later deployed to Saudi Arabia as a Tele-communications Operator during Operation Desert Storm. Kelly was proud to have served her country, and her family was proud of her service.

Growing up, Kelly loved camping and fishing on the North Fork, and her family holds many fond memories of those times. She also enjoyed playing softball and was part of the Silver Dollar team, and she was a loyal Denver Broncos fan.

Kelly’s gentle spirit and kind heart touched everyone she knew, and she had a special love for people and animals alike. This love included many dogs over the years, a deer she affectionately named Floppy who returned to her home year after year, and the many stray cats she cared for while deployed.

Kelly was preceded in death by her father, Russ Hudson.

She is survived by her mother, Joyce Hudson; her brother, Doug (Tresa); her sister, Kim (Bob); her nieces, Whitney and Amy; and her nephews, Jesse and Derek.

Graveside services will be held at Riverside Cemetery on Monday, April 6 at 1:00 p.m.
