Obituary

It’s with very sad hearts that we announce the passing of Judy Young, 79, of Billings, MT on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at St. Vincents Hospital. She passed peacefully but not before she spent special moments with her husband, daughters, son-in-laws, and her grandkids. She was able to give each of them a special moment of her sweetness and tender love for them.

She was born on October 26, 1946, in Lander WY and was the only child to Barney and Fern (Iiams) Galinski. Even though she lived in Laramie WY, she spent most of her childhood in Lander WY. Spending precious time with her Grandma Beulah and Grandpa Jim and time on the McKinney family ranch south of Lander WY with her Aunt Hilda and cousins.

After high school in Laramie WY, she met her husband, Frank Young, and within 3 months they were married on October 1, 1966. They spent almost 60 years together raising 3 daughters, 7 grandkids, 12 great grandkids and others who needed a family and home. They raised their daughters in Cody WY and spent the last 26 years in Billings MT.

She loved to bake and made the very best cheesecake you would ever eat. She also loved just about any craft, a creative mind like hers could get her hands on. She could sew without patterns, paint anything, woodwork, crochet and knit. She loved sharing these talents with her family and we all have treasured handmade crafts from her to keep forever.

She leaves a lasting legacy of the following; made the best grilled cheese and toast, could drink coffee from morning to night, smelled like cherry almond lotion, loved anything about Elvis, loved to garden and pot springtime flowers, loved to drink a great lemonade, eat maple long johns, watch old western movies, stop at a random garage sale, work on puzzles and play cards or solitaire.

She is survived by her husband, Frank Young, daughters Tracy (Greg) Roadifer, Tanya (Neil) Nistler and her son-in-law Tim Lozier. She was the loving Grandma Judy to Bryan (Brooke) Lozier, Brady (Lindsay) Lozier, Tjay (Mollie) Lozier, Trey (Ashley) Roadifer, Ty Roadifer, Paige Nistler and Jace Nistler. She adored her Great Grandkids Ryder, Dawson, Rhet, Emmy, Lola Nolan, Carter, Penn, Birk, Lilly, Taytum, and Conrad.

It gives us great comfort knowing that she and her eldest daughter, Tiffany Lozier who passed away in October 2025, are together watching over their family and friends.

Her wishes were to be cremated and placed to rest with her husband when he passes. The family is planning a private gathering for Judy and Tiffany in Cody WY to celebrate their lives.

In lieu of flowers, please take the time to honor who you are most grateful for. In her last days, she was always grateful by giving a small wave and sweet soft “thank you” to the special caregivers on 3 Fortin who cared for her and to Maureen who stayed and helped with dad during this difficult time.
