We are sad to announce that our father, Joseph James Larkin, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2023, at his home in Billings, after a long battle with cancer and just shy of his 80th birthday. He will be sadly missed and will always hold a place in our hearts.

Joe leaves behind a son, Daryl Mark Larkin of Pompeys Pillar; and a daughter, Sherry Lynn Larkin of Gainesville, Florida. He also has two grandsons, Ethan Elliot Tucker and Bryce Joseph Tucker of Gainesville, Florida. He is also survived by a foster brother, Stan Otis, of Kirkland, Washington.

Joe also leaves behind an indelible mark as a stoic man who persevered, maintained a sense of humor and kindness, and appreciated the outdoors — especially hunting and fishing — which led him to first move from Bellevue to Cashmere in Washington State, then to Alaska, northern California, then back to eastern Washington before moving to Montana to be close to his son and share their passion for the outdoors.

As per Joe’s request, Daryl and Sherry are spreading his ashes in his favorite places, so no funeral or memorial service will be held.
