Jo Ann Korb (Blue) passed away peacefully at the age of 80 under the care of St. Vincent Regional Hospital on January 11, 2025.  She was born on June 2, 1944, in Glasgow, Montana, to Robert Malcolm Blue and Florence Mabel Blue (Denoma), joining her three sisters Dean, Doris, and Donna at the family ranch north of Saco, Montana.

Jo received her early education in the Saco Public Schools system and then went on to pursue her teaching degree (BSEd) at Northern Montana College.  Jo worked as a dedicated elementary school teacher in Havre, Great Falls, and Billings, including a three-decade tenure working for Billings Public Schools.  Jo was beloved by her students and the students’ parents alike, as well as by her fellow faculty members.  She was passionate about helping students achieve proficiency in math and English above and beyond basic standardized levels—even if it meant using candy to help incentivize her students’ achievements.

Jo married Fred Korb on September 30, 1967.  From this union, Jo gave birth to four children:  Kristin, Ryan, Clark, and Chad.  Fred and Jo lived their married life in Boise, Idaho, for roughly a decade and spent the remainder of their time living in Billings, Montana.  Fred and Jo regularly attended St. Pius X Catholic Church for many years, and they were actively involved in attending their children’s sports and music performances even as their children aged beyond their high-school years.

Jo is survived by her loving husband, Fred, their four children, and three grandchildren (Coleman, Eva, and Kate Korb).  Jo was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Florence, and her sister Roberta.

A vigil and Rosary to celebrate Jo’s life will be hosted by Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary at 6 pm on Thursday, March 20, 2025.  A funeral and inurnment ceremony will be held at St. Pius X Catholic Church at 11 am on Friday, March 21,
