James Allen Wood

James Allen Wood, 55, of Billings, died on Sunday, July 28, 2024, in Billings.

Allen was born on Jan. 28, 1969, in Livingston. He grew up playing hockey. Allen followed in his father’s footsteps and began trucking at age 14. He hauled cars, cattle and drove for Bertolino. He bought his first truck in 1999, where he was leased from Printz Trucking and worked until his accident in 2008. His hobbies including anything involving trucks, whether that be driving truck, working on trucks or just watching them. He shared his knowledge with everyone. He was known for his sense of humor and big personality. He married the love of his life in 1996, and together, they had three daughters and four grandchildren, who were his whole world.

He is survived by his wife, Denise Wood; children Brittany Kramer, Savanah (Bobby) Krumm and Shawntel Wood; four grandchildren; his mother, Ivalie Wood; siblings Debbie (Pat) Wensman, Dan (Marianne) Wood, April Wood and Stan (Janet) Cline. He was preceded in death by his father, Jim; brother Steve and sister Kathy.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary, with a celebration of life to follow at the Wood residence.
