James (Jim) Morrill Lemon, 84, of Billings, died on Sunday, February 15th, 2026 surrounded by his loving family in the comfort of his home. He was born on June 4th, 1941 to James (Jim) Mathew Lemon and Janet A. Lemon in Sheridan, WY. Jim attended high school in Hardin, MT. He married Tempe Brammer of Story, WY. on July 14th, 1962 and they had two children. Tempe Ellen Lemon (Steve Day) and James (Jay) Matthew Lemon (Sarah B. Lemon).
Jim was a devoted husband and father who took exceptional care of and pride in his family. He was the ultimate patriarch and his family's fearless leader. He was a good, loyal and trusted friend to many.
Jim worked as a cattle rancher on the family ranch north of Hardin and he was a corporate pilot. He was a true patriot who loved his country and he was well-known for his deep attachment to and the fun he had with their Scotty dogs.
Jim's first passion was aviation. He was an avid motorcyclist, talented snow and water skier and an enthusiastic bocce and volleyball player. Jim and Tempe enjoyed travel, dinner out with friends and quiet time with each other at home. He was proud to be a member of QB's (Quiet Birdman) organization.
Jim is survived by his wife, his children, four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one grandson.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 21st at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary at 3:00 p.m. "Gone West" celebration will be held at the Red Door Lounge from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Honorary Pallbearers are Sawyer Stolz, Jonathan Lemon, Joseph Lemon and Rider Warren. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
