Doris Mae Schraer

Doris Mae Schraer, 93, peacefully left this world to be with Jesus on Thursday, Dec. 21, 2017. She was born in Lambert on Feb. 25, 1924. Doris was a loving wife, mother and grandma and great-grandma.

Doris was a woman before her time. She had an entrepreneurial spirit and, among other successful ventures, she opened the Nearly New Shop in Billings in 1965. She loved working at her store and did so until she was 82 years old. Doris loved her customers and found many lifelong friends in them. Doris was a generous person and helped many in their time of need. Her love for the Lord and sharing His love with people with whom she crossed paths was her passion. She enjoyed sewing, baking, gardening, garage sales and reading.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Clarence Schraer; and her children, Diane (Greg) Morrow of Arizona, Linda (Bob) Scott of Billings, Patti Martin of Billings, Theresa (Chris) Cornelius of Nebraska. She has 16 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Judy Bell; her son, Mike Schraer; and grandson Bradley Morrow.

A viewing will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 5, at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary, 1001 Alderson Ave. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, at Open Bible Christian Center, 302 19th St. W., with a light lunch following. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
