David Aaron Steiger was born on January 10, 1969, in Billings, Montana, and passed away unexpectedly on June 21, 2026, in Glendive, Montana..

David’s life was one of vibrant passion, tireless devotion, and unwavering kindness. Those who knew David will remember a man whose love for the outdoors was matched only by his love for family. His days were often filled with the simple joys that he cherished the most: hunting, fishing, and camping beneath the Montana sky, instilling in all who knew him a profound appreciation for the world’s quiet beauty and wonders.

A leader both by example and action, David dedicated himself to his community. He served as past president of the local Fraternal Order of Eagles and vice president of the Montana Pikemasters, pouring his energy into organizations that brought neighbors together in camaraderie and friendship. He also delighted in sharing his passions with the younger generation, coaching youth hockey and encouraging his players to find joy in their achievements both on and off the ice. David's love for hockey went beyond coaching young players. He was a proud hometown fan of the Billings Jr. Bulls and an avid fan of the Colorado Avalanche and UM-Flint Wolverines.  

David was, above all, a devoted father and husband. His family remembers him as a constant source of love and encouragement—a man who reminded his children always to smile, gently protecting them from sadness whenever he could. The warmth of his presence will linger in every shared laugh, every fireside story, and every lesson passed from father to child.

Though words can scarcely capture the breadth of his spirit, David Aaron Steiger’s legacy will endure in the countless lives he touched. His kind heart, steadfast dedication, and loving guidance are treasured memories that will be carried forward by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

David’s memory will be honored every day by those who loved him, in the landscapes he adored and in the smiles he so earnestly encouraged.

A public visitation is scheduled for Thursday, June 25th, 2026, from 4-7 P.M. in the Chapel at Michelotti-Sawyers Funeral Home and Crematory. David's Memorial Service is scheduled for 11 A.M., Saturday, June 27th, 2026, at Hope United Methodist Church, 244 Wicks Ln., Billings, MT.
