Cynthia Ann Smith

Cynthia Ann Smith was born in Butte, Montana, on June 30, 1960, to James “Wayne” Cadigan and Marcia Field-Cadigan. Cindy was the oldest daughter of six children. While studying Respiratory Therapy in Missoula, at just 18, she met the love of her life, Paul Smith. Father Charlie Gorman married Cindy and Paul in 1980, thus beginning their life in Billings. Cindy and Paul welcomed and raised four beautiful children.

To say she led life with love is an understatement, and we’ll be forever grateful for her lessons in unadulterated love. She showed this love in the care she provided for over 25 foster infants, the way she opened her home to all in need, and in the exceptional care she provided to her patients at Pearl Garden Memory Care.

Cindy is survived by her husband of 43 years, Paul; children Corrie (Chad) Tonge, Kelly (Aaron) Moritz, Nate Smith and Troy Smith; her joy, grandson Lyndon Moritz; siblings Wayne (Nancy), Ken, Dan (Scott) and Tammi (Bruce) Allison. Cindy was loved by many nieces and nephews and the entire Smith Family. She is welcomed to heaven by her parents, Wayne and Marcia; beloved father- and mother-in-law Warren and Jane Smith; brother Chris; nephews Andy and Tom; and brother-in-law Joe Halko.

Thank you to those who loved and supported her in her last year of life.

A vigil will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 28, at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary, 1001 Alderson Ave. The funeral service will be the following morning at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 29, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 2055 Woody Drive, with reception directly after. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to LaVie Health .
