Cynthia “Cindy” Kay Lund, born in Miles City, Montana, on Sept. 5, 1954, died peacefully on Oct. 7, 2023, with her loving and devoted husband, Charlie White, by her side.

Cindy was a remarkable person who didn’t know a stranger and loved all animals, most especially horses. Those fortunate enough to be her friend lived in the glow of her love and support. She was whip-smart, hysterically funny and had a formidable memory. She could tell stories like nobody else.

Cindy was intensely proud of being from Terry, Montana, and often referred to herself as being “Terry Tough.” She grew up on Cabin Creek outside of Terry, where her favorite pastime was riding her horse through the badlands.

Following her graduation from Terry High School, Cindy attended and received her bachelor’s degree from Montana State University.

Cindy and Charlie made their home in Great Falls, Montana, crisscrossing the state frequently to visit friends and family. She particularly enjoyed spending time on the Kalfell ranch outside of Terry, where she and her family had once lived and made so many happy memories. Their cabin in Monarch was the scene of many celebratory gatherings and the place from which some of Cindy’s favorite stories emerged.

Cindy is survived by her husband, Charles “Charlie” J. White; her mother, Elinore “Nonnie” Hubing Lund; and many beloved cousins, aunts and uncles. She was preceded in death by her father, Ronald M. Lund; brother, Kirk K. Lund; maternal grandparents Leone and Lee Hubing; paternal grandparents, Leo and Kathryn “Tata” Kalfell Lund.

A Celebration of Cindy’s Life will be at 4:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27, at Hilands Golf Club in Billings, Montana. Please bring your favorite memories of Cindy to share with everyone. Her burial in Terry is being planned for a later date; details will be forthcoming.

For those wishing to donate in Cindy’s memory, please consider these options in Terry: The Evelyn Cameron Heritage Foundation, Terry’s American Legion #32 or the Terry Swim Pool.

Cindy was a beautiful example of living and loving every moment of her extraordinary life. She will be missed.
