Christopher Thomas Anderson, born Sept. 9, 1970, passed away on May 11, 2019.
He attended Poly Drive Elementary School, Will James Middle School, Billings West High School and Billings Career Center, where he excelled in the broadcasting program, resulting in a job at a local radio station. He was confirmed in the Lutheran Church. Chris was a popular, outgoing person who had a love of life. He battled demons of alcohol and drugs for much of his life, trying to self-medicate for ADHD and bipolar condition. Due to his addictions, he spent many years incarcerated and under the auspices of the Montana Dept. of Corrections, where the merry-go-round of probation, incarceration and parole entangled him for most of his adult life. Despite this adversity, he maintained a positive and loving demeanor, and will be greatly missed by his friends and loving family.
He is survived by his father, Alan Anderson of Fort Myers, Florida; daughter Erin Anderson; sister Karen Tanton (Ed) of Bloomington, Illinois; niece Erika Rocke of Houston, Texas; and nephew Tyler Tanton of Bloomington. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ellen Anderson; his aunt, Judith Diane Anderson; and his grandparents, Lloyd and Dora Anderson, and Ralph and Roda McAvoy.
A graveside ceremony will be at 9 a.m. Friday, May 24, at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
