Christina Damjanovich, 86, passed away at Billings Clinic Hospital on September 20th, 2025. She was born on July 18, 1939, in Gebo, Wyoming, to Blazo and Drage (Vujovich) Damjanonovich. Chrissy was the sixth of twelve children and was raised on a dairy and sugar beet farm northeast of Billings.
She attended Progressive Elementary through fourth grade, then moved on to Pioneer Elementary and graduated from Shepherd High School in 1957—Go Fillies! As a young woman, Chrissy worked a variety of jobs, but she most enjoyed working at Walker's Grill.
Chrissy loved reading, doing puzzles, and watching her soapies. However, her most important job was caring for her beloved Baba. She managed the daily activities of the household and provided a loving home for both of them. Over the years, she also became a caretaker for many of her nieces and nephews, and they always looked forward to visiting and finding a plate of cookies waiting for them.
After Baba's passing, Chrissy found companionship in her animals, Jenny and Petey. When she was no longer able to live alone, she moved to Butterfly Homes Assisted Living, where she enjoyed being pampered and cherished the friendships she made. Butterfly Homes became her second family.
Chrissy was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Petar, Drago, Vidak, and Milton Damjanovich; sisters Helen Klundt, Vide Mirich, and Mileva Hudson; and her brothers-in-law Verlyn Klundt, Nick Mirich, Ben Carlson, and sister-in-law Eileen Damjanovich.
She is survived by her sisters Daisy Carlson, Anje Openshaw, and Stella Openshaw ( Deryl); brother Richard (Bonnie); and brother-in-law Cloyd Hudson, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on September 25th, 2025, at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary in Billings, MT, at 1:00 p.m. Family viewing will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on September 24th, 2025. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
