Charles Alan Kessler, 67, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, December 15, 2025, and was reunited with his loving wife, Patti.
The son of Roy and Sandra Kessler, Chuck was born on July 18, 1958, in Scobey, Montana. He was the oldest of four children, the only boy, and brought great pride to his parents.
Chuck met Patti at a young age, and the two shared countless conversations about faith, family, life, and what truly mattered in the end. Chuck often said he was her first “convert” and she was undeniably the love of his life. Over time, they discovered they shared a common vision. In October 1979, they were married and began their life together with few material possessions but strong, lasting values on which to build their family.
The following year, Chuck and Patti were blessed with their first son, Dustin, followed by Trenton and then Patrick. Though there were lean years, they were rich in memories. Chuck was known for spending time outdoors with his family- camping, fishing, hunting, and boating, and he regularly welcomed his sons’ friends along for the adventures. To this day, many of those friends speak of how meaningful that time was to them. Above all else, time spent with his boys was always Chuck’s priority, a love he later extended to cherishing quality time with his two granddaughters, whom he loved with all his heart.
Chuck was a tireless, hardworking provider who devoted his life to caring for his family and was never afraid to take risks. He left his mark through various business ventures, including fast food chains like Blimpies and Taco Johns, as well as Eagle Printing, Rocky Mountain, Denny Menholt, Shaklee, I-90 Motor Sports, and K & K Auto.
He was widely known for his exceptional knowledge of automobiles, a top salesman with a successful career in the car industry. His mind was like a sponge, retaining remarkable details about cars of every make and model. Chuck often told a story of reading an encyclopedia as a child, one we were never able to confirm, but it was a story that always brought laughter.
Chuck is survived by his sons, Dustin, Trenton (Melida), and Patrick; his granddaughters, Sofia and Quincy; and his sisters, Kandi Kessler and Debbi Hanna.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patti; his sister, Sheila Kessler; and his parents, Sandi and Roy Kessler.
Chuck’s life will be celebrated on Saturday, January 10. Interment will take place at 10:00 a.m. at Yellowstone Valley Memorial Park for family and close friends. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Evangelical Church, 3145 Sweet Water Drive, with a reception afterward at the Red Door.
