Carol Ann (Fuher) Henson

Carol Ann (Fuher) Henson, devoted wife, mother and follower of Jesus Christ, passed away into his loving arms on Jan. 5, 2018. Mom was born on Jan. 2, 1934, in Rockingham, North Carolina, to William and Bernice Fuher. As Mom liked to say, born 1-2-3-4. When Mom was a little girl, her family moved to Livingston, and she ​grew up there with her three brothers. She graduated from Park High School in 1951.

She was the most beautiful blonde girl and caught the eye of a young man, Claude Henson, at a New Year's Eve dance. At midnight, he walked up and gave her a kiss, then walked away. Then turned around and came back for another smooch. Their 66-year marriage began on Feb. 9, 1951. Four​ children were born and they soon relocated to Billings, where they raised their kids. Throughout Mom's life, she was always the cornerstone of the home. She was an excellent homemaker and awesome cook. Later, when grandkids started hanging around the house, she would take them out to the kitchen and show them how to make her famous cinnamon rolls, cookies, fudge, divinity, cherry cheese pie ​and many other yummy items that Grandmas do. She also loved to crochet, bowl, play bridge, and go camping. She especially loved to go to the Bow and Arrow Church Camp South of Livingston. She was a faithful member of the Church of Christ, and found her many brothers and sisters in Christ there. Mom loved her church. She was a shining example of what a Christian wife and mother should be. When hard times came, because of her faith, she only became stronger and more devoted to her Lord. She was an example of the folks that lived back in the Greatest Generation years.

And so, Mom, we say well done, good and faithful servant. You have enriched our lives. We will always miss you. We will always love you.

Mom was preceded in death by brothers Thomason Hood Fuher and Jimmy Robin Fuher; and son Robert Thomas Henson.​

Survivors include husband Claude; brother Bill Fuher; ​children, Don (Diana) Henson, Holly (Mitch) King, Richard (Anne) Henson;​ grandchildren Christy, Shawn, Justin, Jaclyn, Eric, Sara, Jenny, Katie, Emily and Mykal; as well as 13 great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Carol's life will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan.​10, at the Church of Christ at 10th and Alderson, in Billings. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date in Livingston.
