Alice Roberts passed away peacefully on October 14, 2015. She was born on February 21, 1917 in rural Wyoming as the second youngest of five siblings born to German emigrants. She earned her teaching degree from the University of Wyoming by attending summer school while teaching during the school years. She married Chester H. Roberts in 1947. After the family moved to Billings in 1956, she began teaching in the Billings public school system and taught second and third grade at North Park School and Miles Avenue School. She retired in the mid 1980's after teaching for 43 years. Throughout her working career and in retirement she was active in church and educational service organizations. She traveled extensively in her retirement to destinations all over the world. She is survived by a daughter, Mary Patterson (Bob) of Billings, a son, Harold Roberts (Sally) of Cherry Hills Village, Colorado, five grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. She resided at West Park Village for the past 13 years. Services are planned for 10 am, Monday October 19th at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, 310 N. 27th Street, Billings, Montana. Memorials should be sent to the organization of your choice.
