Margaret Regele

Margaret Patricia Regele, native Montanan, born in Park City, lived most of her life in Billings. One of seven children of Catherine Moore and Sylvester Anderson, Margaret married William D. “Bill” Regele in 1949; they were married 45 years when he died.

She worked for the Bureau of Reclamation and the U. S. Postal Service. A devoted Catholic, she and her family were involved in both the parish of St. Pius X and more recently St. Thomas.

Margaret is survived by her eight children (Steve, Ed and Tom of Billings; Kathleen of Philadelphia; Loretta and Maureen of Portland, Ore.; Joanne of Redding, Conn.; and Marcia of West Palm Beach, Fla.) and their spouses; nine grandchildren and their spouses; and nine great-grandchildren.

Always caring for the welfare of others, Margaret was beloved in her community and in her last residence, Grand Park Vintage Suites. Her oft-proffered advice, “Be kinder than is necessary,” her spirited humor and her gentle smile will be remembered by many.

A vigil service will be at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary, 1001 Alderson Ave. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 13, at St. Thomas the Apostle Church. Interment will be in Mountview Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 2055 Woody Drive, Billings, MT 59102; or to the hospice of your choice.
