Lyle W. Pierce, 88 of Billings, passed away Sunday, October 5, 2014 at Riverstone Hospice. He had been cared for by his wife Faye in his final years. The son of B.M. and Esther Pierce, Lyle was born October 4, 1926 in Roundup. He graduated from Roundup High School in 1944 and attended Billings Business College. During WWII he served in the Army until being discharged in 1947.
On September 27, 1952, Lyle married Faye Hammond in Billings. They lived two years in Anchorage before returning to Billings in 1954. Lyle had worked for Kraft Foods and Shipton Supply until retiring in 1981.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, and working in his basement shop. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife Faye, two sons, Bob of Billings, and Jim and his wife Angela of Bozeman, his sister Irene Shogren of Billings and 6 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Ray and sister Marian Bernheimer.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be 1pm Monday, October 13, 2014 at Grace United Methodist Church with interment in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
