Lonnie Deanne Koehn, of Billings, passed away peacefully on Feb. 1, 2014, while surrounded by her loving family.
Lonnie was born in Fargo, N.D., on Oct. 29, 1942. She married Richard “Rich” Duane Koehn on Jan. 30, 1960, in Portland, Ore., and had three children.
Lonnie enjoyed spending time with her family and attending their various sporting events. She spent many years as a beloved supporter of softball and became an honorary mother/grandmother to many of the players and their children. Grandma Lonnie (aka Grandma Gadget) had a purse/softball bag stocked full of whatever somebody needed: bubblegum, ibuprofen, Tums, Band-Aids and even dryer sheets.
Lonnie retired after almost 20 years from Ferro, Willett and Thompson in 2011. After retiring, she continued to spoil them with her baked goods.
Lonnie is preceded in death by her husband, Rich, mother Caroline and father Albert Eisner. She is survived by her brother, Alvin Eisner of Portland, Ore.; her children, Rick (Lynn) Koehn, Tracy (John) Kangas, and Trina Besel; along with seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and her loyal companion, Buffy.
Lonnie was a blessing sent from God. She touched the lives of so many and blessed us all with her giving spirit.
Graveside service will be held on Monday, Feb. 24, at 10 a.m., at Yellowstone Valley Memorial Park, 3605 Grand Ave., Billings.
We will have a celebration of Lonnie’s life this spring with date TBD.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to RiverStone Health Hospice, PO Box 1562, Billings, MT 59103 or online at www.riverstonehealth.org.
