Linda Grace (Joppa) Armstrong died peacefully on July 1, 2013, after a short, courageous battle with cancer.

Linda was born on Jan. 3, 1938, to Grace (Shoop) and Carl Joppa, one of four children. She attended a little country school and then transferred to the Fromberg school system, where she graduated. Linda was active in 4-H and Rainbow Girls.

On April 20, 1957, Linda married Merrill Armstrong. The couple had four children: three boys and a girl. The Armstrongs spent the majority of their married life in Roundup, where they owned a clothing store for 15 years. Linda enjoyed the friendships with the customers and the interaction with the public.

Throughout her life, Linda was passionate about growing plants, from a large garden as her family was being raised to her roses in the later years. She also spent a great deal of time doing beautiful handiwork, including cross-stitch, knitting, crocheting, sewing and quilting. She leaves behind many special pieces that her family will treasure.

Linda is survived by her husband of 56 years, Merrill Armstrong; as well as her siblings, Robert (Catherine) Joppa of Fargo, N.D., Steve (Evelyn) Joppa of Florida and Jean Armstrong of Havre; children Lyle Armstrong of Glendive, Susan Brooks of Billings, Ron (Gail) Armstrong of Roundup and Jay Armstrong of Helena; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 6, at Harvest Church – Lockwood Campus, 1413 Rosebud Lane.
