Kaye Powell
A fun-loving soul left us today. Kaye Anne (Hopkins) Powell of Billings was born on Nov. 25, 1947, and left us on Dec. 5, 2018.
She is survived by her husband, K.D. Powell; her son, Christopher Lee Snow; and three grandchildren, Daniel, Sara and Lynnsey, all of Billings; her brothers Hillier, Robert “Bob” and Darrell; and three sisters, Joni, Lynn and Lori. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Evelyn Hopkins; and her two Pomeranians, Pepe’ and Foxy.
Kaye was a strong woman and single mom who worked hard to make a better life for Chris. She graduated from Dawson Community College with an Associates of Arts in Business Management. In 1993, she met K.D., the love of her life and her best friend. They shared many adventures together, beginning with a ride on a Harley. Camping in Western Montana, poker runs in the 32 Chevy and many motorcycle excursions, including an epic ride from Montana to Alaska, meeting new friends everywhere they went. Sturgis was a yearly event they enjoyed for 16 years.
She loved music, singing and dancing, gardening and cooking. Chris remembers many great meals when she was creating new recipes and the family favorites were her lasagna and chicken enchiladas. She taught her sisters a mean game of Nuts!! Spending hours playing with them on visits home. Darrell and Kaye enjoyed dancing and making music together. She approached life with passion and will be missed by family and friends for many years to come.
