Jessica Ann Gannett, 38 years old, beloved mother, daughter, sister and friend, died on June 29, 2014, of complications associated with her chronic seizure disorder.
Jessica was born on Aug. 17, 1975, in Great Falls, to Damon and Carol Gannett. Jessica grew up in Billings and graduated from Billings Central Catholic High School in 1994. The third of six children, Jessica spent her early years excelling in basketball, track and just about anything she put her mind to. As an adult, Jessica was the outgoing barkeep at your favorite watering hole, serving her longtime customers and friends with a smile and a joke. Her witty banter and constant smile will be missed by all.
On June 11, 2009, Jessica gave birth to the love of her life: her son, Jude. Jude and Jessica were two peas in a pod, and you can see Jessica’s intelligence and spontaneous demeanor in Jude every day. Jude’s time with his mother was cut short, but was love-filled nonetheless. Jude’s mama will be sorely missed.
Jessica is preceded in death by her grandparents, Marvin and Martha Leggate, Will Gannett and Patricia Taber. She is survived by her loving partner, John Fasching; her parents, Damon and Carol Gannett of Billings; sisters Amy Bergen of Beaumont, Texas, and Lindsey (Nick) Bouchard of Billings; her brothers, Tyler (Kari) and Tucker (Kristin) Gannett of Billings, and Tobin (Holly) Gannett of Enid, Okla. In addition to her parents and her siblings, Jessica is survived by nine nieces and nephews: Lainey, Natalie, Lola, Stella, Auggie, Ella, Anna, Oren and Henry. These nine young people will miss their crazy Aunt Jessica very much.
A celebration of Jessica’s life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 5, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church at 2055 Woody Drive, Billings.
