Gloria Magdalyn (Carroll) Boroughs, 92, of Billings, died quietly with family at her side, on April 25, 2012. Born on September 7, 1919, in New Orleans, Gloria spent most of her early years living in Westlake, La, where she loved and enjoyed many dear friends and close family, and where she met her husband, J.C. Boroughs.
In 1949, Gloria and J.C. moved to Billings with their three children, where J.C. began a long career with Conoco Refinery, and where Gloria managed their home and raised a total of five children. Gloria raised her children instilling good moral fiber, making sure that they all attended Sunday school and church every week. Easters were always a dress-up day! Twice on her last day with us she reminded us that Jesus Is Real!
Mom enjoyed her many friends and family and relished knowing that so many people loved her as much as she loved them. When she wasn’t reading a good book, Bridge or Scrabble were some of her favorite pastimes. She spent her retirement years with J.C. living in Arkansas and Texas, finally settling back in Billings to be near family.
Gloria was preceded in death by her husband and one grandchild. She leaves behind her children, Jim Boroughs, Karen (Ray) Carl, Sharon (Alton) Anderson, Nina (Larry) Sheneman and Paul (Virginia) Boroughs; 12 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; beloved Louisiana family; several close family friends, and her friends at Highgate Senior Living.
Thank you, Mom, for doing a good job raising your children.
