Gladys Nerine (Lowe) Makeeff was born June 19th, 1929 in Big Timber, Montana to Rev. M.L. & Genevieve (Rhoades) Lowe. On June 5th 1949, she was united in marriage to Arnie Makeeff son of Emanuel and Rosalia (Fried) Makeeff of Mercer, ND. They had 4 children: Ellen R. & Gary Booth, of Billings, Terry & Julie (Grimes) of Billings, Kathleen and David Thorson of Billings, and Denise & Darwin Sunderland of Princeton, MN.
Gladys was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years; her parents; and one sister Willa Juanita (Lowe) Wagner of Mercer, ND. She is survived by siblings, Alfred C. & Doris (Jorgenson) Lowe of Washburn, ND; Donald L. & Shirley (Conway) Lowe of Jacksonville, FL; Calvin L. & Danice (Carey-deceased) Lowe of St. Augustine, FL; Glenn O. & Velma Jewel (Gay- deceased) of Jacksonville, FL; and Izella (Dodie) & Alfred Fournier of Homosassa, FL.
She leaves behind her grandchildren: Christopher & Gail (Kirby) Booth of Billings; Shane & Yvonne (Leighton) Makeeff of Billings; Holly & Mickey Mahlmeister of Billings; Joshua & Chandra (Lamirande) Makeeff of Billings; Beau & Shannon (Bauer) Nave of Billings; Andrea (Thorson) & Brandt Rohde of Newport News, VA; Derek & Whitney (Lara) Thorson of Billings; Charles Sunderland of St Francis, MN; and Brandy Sunderland of Princeton, MN.
Gladys also leaves 7 great grandchildren: Christopher Murphuree in Afghanistan; Donavon Booth of Billings; Michaela, Kylee & Gunner Makeeff of Billings; Teaka, Meadow & Karlos Mahlmeister of Billings; Arian Makeeff of Billings; Joshua Nave of Billings; and Addison Sunderland of MN. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews, and her two best friends Pat Kendall of Joliet and Scottie Spencer of Billings.
She will be sorely missed by her family and the friends she made in her 83 years of life. She will forever be remembered as having lived life to the fullest.
The casket will be open for visitation on Tuesday until 8 p.m., at Michelotti-Sawyers, and prior to the service at the church. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, August 29, at New Life Assembly, 3950 Temple Pl. in Billings. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
