Joseph Reid Obituary

In what would later be discovered to be true Joseph form, he arrived fashionably late to his birth, May 15, 2002, to his parents Janae Zavala and Randy Reid. He would be the oldest child of all the siblings to come. Six more in total. Four brothers: Peyton, Josiah, Jodin and Dailyn; two sisters: Jodie and Elyzabeth. In their unbiased opinions, Joe was the best big brother a sibling could have. He really loved each of them and maintained a special and unique relationship with every one of them. Growing up, Joe was a wild child filled with energy, no fear and all boy. He especially loved to make people laugh. Whether it be telling or playing practical jokes, Joseph always had a way of putting a smile on your face and your sides hurt from laughter.

As a small boy, Joe discovered Marvel. His favorite character of all time was Spiderman. For years, he would run around jumping out making the web hand gesture and say, “Spiderman Joe, pew, pew, pew.” As Joe got older, he discovered a love for the outdoors. Hunting, fishing, camping and hiking. He enjoyed doing it all, especially with family. Joe also discovered a passion for food. He loved to cook. Not just for himself, but others as well. He enjoyed learning new recipes or coming up with his own. You had to be especially brave to try some of the concoctions he came up with. Usually turning out to be delicious and resulting in Joe beaming with pride as he told you “I told you so.” This passion for food is what led Joe to become a kitchen staff member at Highgate Senior Living. He absolutely loved his job and his residents. He was a valued member of their team for two and a half years.

Joseph was a Skyview Falcons graduate, Class of 2020. It was during his last three years of high school he took to gaming as an outlet to boredom after a back injury playing football freshman year ended his days of athletics. He spent endless hours on his Xbox playing all sorts of games. His favorite being Call of Duty Black Ops 2. This outlet would eventually lead him to the love of his life, Clover Klingenberg. They had a whole future planned out together. From getting married, to a home of their own filled with animals and babies, to a life of adventures and growing old and grey together. Unfortunately, now none of that will come to pass. At just 21, Joseph passed away unexpectedly of natural causes in his home on the night of April 10, 2024.

Joseph was preceded in death by his baby brother, Josiah James; uncle Jimmy Reid; grandparents; great-grandparents and so many others. He is survived by his love, Clover Klingenberg; his mother, Janae Reid (Preston); brother Jodin; sister Jodie; father Randy Reid (Josie), brothers Peyton and Dailyn; sister Elyzabeth; grandparents Jolene and Loren Music, Clyde and Robin Reid, Danae (Lenny) Morgan. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and so many more, including close family friends.

A big heart who stood out from the crowd, Joseph was a one-of-a-kind human filled with compassion and kindness touching the lives of many. He is and will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
