Margaret Hill died November 24 at St. John’s Lutheran Home in Billings. She was 97 years old. She was born Margaret Dorthea Selvig, in Outlook, Sheridan County. Her parents were Bert and Lina Selvig. Margaret grew up on a farm near Outlook, and as a young person, she witnessed the Dust Bowl and the Great Depression. In 1937, she graduated from nurse’s training at Columbus Hospital in Great Falls, as a Registered Nurse. While working in Oklahoma, she met her future husband, Eustace Hill, Jr. Margaret and Eustace were married in 1940. In 1944, the couple moved to Billings. As a CPA, Eustace was a partner in Montana accounting firms, while Margaret worked as a homemaker and nurse. After Eustace died in 1970, Margaret was employed for several years as a sales clerk at Anthony’s. Margaret was a long-time member of Peace Lutheran Church in Billings. Margaret enjoyed reading, baking, sewing, gardening, and listening to music, and she was an avid fan of televised golf. She is survived by three sons, Jesse and Robert of Maryland, and Andrew of Ohio, and by a brother, Roald Selvig, of Outlook, as well as by nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be 10am Friday at Peace Lutheran Church.
