Dorothy Holwegner Horst Beam, age 94, passed away at MorningStar Senior Living in Billings, on Nov. 22, 2018. She was the daughter of Eva and John Holwegner. Dorothy was raised in Fromberg, and married John Horst, Jr. where they farmed until his passing in 1988. Dorothy was a devoted wife and mother, and had a special place in her heart for her granddaughter Christine and grandson John Justin. Dorothy was active in the Fromberg community and the Methodist Church, and she spent many happy hours in her beautiful garden of over 100 rose bushes.
Dorothy married Cliff Beam and they wintered in Yuma, Arizona, with family and friends and spent the summers in Billings. She enjoyed music and loved to dance. Dorothy and Cliff enjoyed 28 beautiful, lovable years together. They liked to travel, especially to the WWII ship reunions, where Dorothy served on many committees. Dorothy was very fond of Cliff’s large extended family — brothers, sons and grandchildren.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, John Horst, Jr.; brothers, John (Brother), Arthur (Bud), and Don and sisters Gladys, Viola (Dodge) and sister and best friend Ethel (Spencer). Survivors include her husband, Clifford Beam; and two daughters, Dr. Jonnie Lee (Wesley) Budke and Sandee (Leonard) Dunstan, all of Billings, Montana; and sister Shirley Peterson of Scottsdale, Arizona.
Grandma was loved by her grandchildren, John Justin (Milissa) Hugdahl of Billings and Dr. Christine Budke of College Station, Texas.
We will always remember you, Mama, with lots of kisses.
Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, at Rockvale Cemetery.
