Don Krause, 57 of Lavina/Broadview, went to the heavens to be with his son after doing what he loved best, while skinning his first elk.

Don was born on February 21, 1949 in Billings, MT to Henry and Juanita Krause. He grew up in Lavina with his three sisters. He graduated from Lavina High School in 1967.

Don served in the United States Air Force from 1967-1971, including on year in Vietnam. On August 18, 1972 Don married the love of his life, Nancy Ashmore in Kansas. They moved to Lavina where they have been farming ever since.

Don worked at Harvest States Elevator and for Thelmer Mosdal. He has worked at and maintained the Broadview School as a custodian for nearly 15 years.

Don and Nancy were blessed with three children, Hank, Jason, and Kim. Don was still like a kid himself, stuck in a 57 year old body. He had a love for kids, especially ones that were a little mischievous. They always put a twinkle in his bright blue eyes and a smile on his face. He enjoyed fishing with his family, was a hunter and an avid toy collector. He was a member of the American Legion.

Don was preceded in death by his father, Henry Krause and son, Jason Krause. He is survived by his wife Nancy (Ashmore) Krause; son Hank Todd of Broadview; daughter Kim (James) Brown of Lewistown; mother, Juanita Krause of Lavina; and sisters, Peggy (John) Osse of Fayetteville, GA, Judy Tope of Syracuse, KA, and Donna Bailey of Boulder, MT; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Don will be missed by many.

Cremation will take place. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M., on Wednesday, November 8, at the Broadview High School in Broadview, MT.

Memorials may be made to the Jason Krause Scholarship Fund, c/o Nancy Krause, P.O. Box 31, Broadview, MT 59015 or to the Lavina American Legion.
