Diane and Family,

Our thoughts are with you all. I will always remember going over to your Mother's house when she sewed dresses for me, when we lived at Powell. She made me feel very special.

Charlotte was such a dear friend to our Mom, and I'm sure they are together again.

Charlotte-Mrs.Ficken, as she was known to me - a rather wayward teenager, that was brought to the house by her son. She was always warm and tolerant and supportive. She told me to get my education and to "stay out of the oilfield." I loved her pancakes and she enjoyed cooking them for me. I thought of her every time I cooked Swedish pancakes for my own son. Small things passed on can impact many lives in many wonderful ways. I, for the most part stayed out of the oilfield. Thank you Mrs. Ficken

Being the youngest of the Harrington Boys next door, I was around when her grand kids would show up to visit. I always thought Mrs. Ficken was a really great person. I am sorry for your loss, she was a very special person.

I am not sure if she was ever real mad for me climbing in the big pine tree out front, hope not. I really enjoyed my last visit with her and Howard with my Dad. Brought back all the nice memories of being a kid growing up next door. I also liked playing basketball in the back yard when Droopy would let me. I am really glad to have had a next door lady like her, she was great.
