Liz was born August 24, 1928 in Columbus, Wisconsin. She is preceded in death by her parent’s T.B. and Blodwyn Thomas of Columbus, Wisconsin and her siblings Roger Thomas, Ed Thomas and Margaret Thomas.
Liz graduated from Columbus High School in Columbus, Wisconsin in 1946. Liz met Earl Kunn during her senior year (her loving husband of nearly 59 years). At first, Liz was not very smitten by Earl. Finally he won her over; for how do you get away from someone when your locker is right next to them. J After graduation Liz continued her education at Carroll College in Waukesha, Wisconsin. On May 18, 1950 Liz and Earl were wed in Columbus, Wisconsin. After their wedding they moved to St. Cloud, Minnesota. In 1954 they packed their bags again and moved to Billings, Montana. Here a whole new life was awaiting the young couple. Liz worked during the weekdays at Mobil Producing Company, while her nights and weekends were spent helping Earl with their business Sportsman’s Supply Inc. In 1959 her priorities shifted and her duties increased, for she was blessed with the greatest job of all - motherhood. By 1967, Liz had become a loving and wonderful mother to four boys.
Liz was active in the Billings Studio Theater and members of Landmark, PEO Chapter S and Junior League. She also loved music; She played the flute in the high school band, and played the piano for family and personal pleasure. She was a recipient of the DAR Award (Daughters of the American Revolution). She enjoyed knitting, cooking, golfing, and fishing - (the latter due to having four boys J).
Survivors include her loving husband Earl of 58 years, sons Mike Kunn of Hope, Maine; Brian Kunn of Aurora, Colorado; Scott Kunn of Billings, Montana; Gary Kunn of Midlothian, Texas. Grandchildren: Jennifer, Michael, Thomas, Katherine, Cody, Lillian, Adrienne, Jamie, Brady, Gavin, Myckenzee, and Madason. Great Grandchild: McKenzie. Sister-in-Law: Joan Thomas and 6 nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church, 2420 13th St West with a reception immediately following at Yellowstone Country Club, 5707 Bobby Jones Blvd., Billings, MT.
