Evangeline Maria Padilla Cervantez, 89 of Billings, passed away early Thursday morning at Eagle Cliff Manor. In her passing, as in her life, she was surrounded by her loved ones. Her lifetime stands as a tribute to those things that give life purpose—unconditional love, family, compassion, sacrifice, laughter and God.
Evangeline was born in Folsom, New Mexico on December 16, 1918 to Bautista Eliseo Padilla and Genoveva Maria Garcia.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Josémaria Luis Cervantez and all of her 14 brothers and sisters. She will be remembered and missed by her children; Dolores (Joe) Heiser of Billings, Joseph (Loreen) Cervantez of Provo, Utah, Maria Cervantez of Billings and Rosalie Kraft of Billings; eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; and numerous step-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Vigil services will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Sunday, at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary. Funeral Mass will be at 2:00 P.M., Monday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Rite Of Committal to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation will be at Michelotti-Sawyers from 8-5 Saturday, and begin at 12 p.m. on Sunday until the conclusion of the vigil.
