Nicodemus J. Bender, 81 of Billings, formerly of Laurel, died November 6, 2008 at the VA Medical Center in Denver, CO.  Nick was born April 17, 1927 in St. Anthony, ND to Nicodemus and Matilda (Geiss) Bender.

He is survived by one sister Othilia “Ot” Smith of Phoenix, AZ and his longtime companion Esther Haas of Billings as well as several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Mary Knoll, Joe Bender, Adam Bender and Della DeBord.

Cremation has taken place.  Graveside services will be held at 11:00  a.m., Tuesday , November 18, at Mountview Cemetery
