David and Gwen, So sorry for your loss. He is in a better place and suffers no more. God Bless, Mike and Lorrie Bernhardt
I have great memories of David and the Sieler Family going all the way back to our roots in Plevna. Our thoughts and prayer to Leah and the family. The last time we were together was at his brother Simon's funeral in Baker, Mt. We had a great time. Now they are both rejoicing together in heaven. Pastor Darrell & Karen Losing Jamestown, ND
Uncle David you were the one uncle that I got to spend the most time with in my life. You were a respected mentor to me, a teacher who taught me 9th grade shop, fisherman, hunter, loveable Uncle and best of all a Christian Man. Uncle David you were always willing to listen and talk with all of us nephews and nieces. You were a very wonderful warm Man and were always approachable and that always made me want to be around you. You led your life in a manner that was an example for all those around you. My time in your shop class was very special to me in that very formative year in my life. I will always miss you Uncle David. Nathan and David your Dad was a very special Man! I am very sorry for your loss, but your Dad will be waiting for you in heaven with open arms. Your nephew Carey Weber ps Uncle David I do not know if there are trout in heaven, but if they are may your rod tip always be pulsing in battle with trout.

David Emmanuel Sieler, 81, of Billings went peacefully home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday evening, June 1, 2008 after a courageous battle with cancer. Dave was born December 23, 1926 to Edward Adam and Rosina (Huber) Sieler in Baker, MT. He was the youngest of 13 children in a German farming family. He graduated from Plevna High School in 1944 and, after a successful start in ranching and farming with his brothers, he moved to Billings to pursue higher education at Rocky Mountain College and seek an eligible Christian mate – both of which he accomplished! He graduated in 1958 with teaching degrees in Industrial Arts and Biology, and then married “the love of [his] life, the one and only Leah Weber, [his] sweetheart forever” in October of 1959. The two settled in Billings where Dave taught for 29 years at Riverside Junior High while continuing his farming operations in southeastern MT during summer months. Dave and Leah had two sons, Nathan Edward and David James. Dave was a devoted father bringing the boys up to love and follow God, to appreciate the great Montana outdoors, and to have a strong work ethic. Every part of Dave’s life was influenced by his relationship with Jesus Christ. In every way he strove to model kindness, helpfulness, generosity, faithfulness and love. Though Dave wasn’t perfect, he sincerely tried to do what is right. He and his wife’s daily lives were summed up by 1 Thessalonians 4:11 “Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, attend to your own business and work with your hands…” Dave was truly gifted at working with his hands. Never idle, he had a passion for creating – two beautiful family homes, metal sculptures, water color, decoys, large vegetable gardens, and virtually anything that could be built through woodworking. A large part of Dave’s life was being a Montanan and enjoying the beauty of this great state and all it has to offer. He and his family spent lots of time outdoors – fishing, hunting, fishing, hiking, fishing, camping and fishing… He loved his fishing! Dave is survived by his beloved wife Leah of Billings; two siblings, Ruth Sieler of Plevna and Benjamin (Amalie) Sieler of Billings; son Nathan (LuWayne) Sieler of Livingston; son David (Gwen) Sieler of Billings; and five grandchildren who were in his words “the great joy of his life”: Holden David and Jothan Edward Sieler; Monica, Madelyn and David Sheldon Sieler. He was preceded in death by his parents and nine brothers: Walter, Edwin, Arthur, Leo, Emil, Edward, Tony, Hable and Simon; and sisters: Hulda Huether and three infant sisters. Dave left many special friends as well who will miss him greatly, especially his church family whom he loved so much. Visitation will be held from 1-5 p.m. on Friday at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary. Private burial services will be at Yellowstone Valley Memorial Park. A Memorial Celebration of his life will take place at 10:30 a.m., Saturday morning, June 7, at Parkhill Assembly of God. Memorials may be made to Glacier Bible Camp, 2147 Overland Avenue, Suite 100, Billings, MT, 59102.
